In order for a food supplement brand to be launched on the market in Turkey, it is mandatory to obtain permission from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. During this process, the company is issued an “Operating Registration Certificate” for the production facility; This certificate pertains to the facility, not the product.
Furthermore, a “Food Supplement Approval Certificate” must be obtained for each supplement product to be manufactured at the facility . The sale of products without Food Supplement Approval is prohibited and poses a risk to public health. Therefore, the Business Registration Number and Food Supplement Approval Number must be included on the product label.
With this information, product verification can be carried out through the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry’s GGBS (Food Safety Information System) .
